Be worried, be very worried - Mar 26, 2006

sorry to be such a downer ...

CNN.com - Be worried, be very worried - Mar 26, 2006: "No one can say exactly what it looks like when a planet takes ill, but it probably looks a lot like Earth.

Never mind what you've heard about global warming as a slow-motion emergency that would take decades to play out. Suddenly and unexpectedly, the crisis is upon us.

From heat waves to storms to floods to fires to massive glacial melts, the global climate seems to be crashing around us."

"Despite the hysterics of a few pseudo-scientists, there is no reason to believe in global warming."

- Limbaugh, Rush. "See, I Told You So", p. 189, 1993.

There was once an audio segment making the rounds where Rush was arguing that the ice caps don't matter since "when ice in your iced-tea melts it doesn't spill over the rim". Some guy called into the show and simply said, "Uh, Rush. There is land under the ice in Antarctica and Greenland. A lot of land."

Rush disdainfully disagreed, insisting that that was a myth.
